$1.5 billion in funding is authorized for all 50 states and American territories.
The Department of Transportation (DOT) announced the approval of all 50 states and U.S. territories’ proposed plans for National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure funding. More than $1.5 billion is now available for use during the 2022 and 2023 fiscal year, which will allow for the building of electric vehicle stations estimated to cover approximately 75,000 miles of the United States’ highway system.
“America led the original automotive revolution in the last century, and today, thanks to the historic resources in the President’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we’re poised to lead in the 21st century with electric vehicles,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm joined Secretary Buttigieg in giving this announcement.
